Monsoons Have Arrived

Image
As I write this, thunder is rumbling across this high desert canyon and the storms are about to drench us. I love Monsoon season! It seems that the town is slowing down for the summer (not just seems...IS). I'm learning the rhythm of Bisbee now. Summer is the off season. Who knew?

Today's Art Installation in Bisbee - Liberty Let's Roll

Image
Hey folks...head to the 24 hour parking lot next to the ATM in Old Bisbee... Sculptor Ilene Deely and her husband are hauling a very cool sculpture she made of the Statue of Liberty with Bruce Lee's kick-ass leg on it. It's an 8 ft. cast bronze enlargement of the sculpture "Liberty, Let's Roll" . You can check out Ilene's blog as they tour the country with the sculpture. Check it out today til 5 p.m.!

I hadn't walked that route before (but, plan to again!). On the way up, we had to stop for a crossing of at least 20 Javelinas that crossed from one side of the canyon to the other side for the night. You really need to give those oversized rodents a wide berth. So, we watched for about 10 minutes as each last baby and adult made their way across. It was a sight (and smell) to behold. I wish my camera had behaved...I took several shots that turned out blurry. So, this one must suffice. But, you get the idea....
