Well, Sunday was a day I will not soon forget....My friend Gretchen Baer put together an amazing birthday bash for Hillary Rodham Clinton (not in attendance, but, sent us a personal thank you).  It was an oasis in the Southeast Arizona Desert that is beyond description. Thanks, Emily, by the way for hosting such a beyond belief party. It's true...I have left the "safe haven" of familiarity in California after residing there since 1963, and moved to the high desert wildlands of Southern Arizona. All I can say is WOW. Did I really do this? Yeah I did! And, I was more than ready. My thanks for introducing me to Bisbee go to my friend Robert - a former love of mine from our Mendocino days 25 years ago. He left California in 2002 and bought a 100 year old miner's cabin perched on the side of one of the steep hills in this canyon of Old Bisbee (accessible by many stairs). I'd been telling him that I wanted to explore beyond the borders of California and he suggested I might really enjoy it here. Well, this summer I rented a car to drive across the scorching (like 116 degrees at 10 p.m. scorching) deserts from Southern California and rolled into Bisbee in early June. How did the year go by so fast? Well, it's not that it hasn't been an eventful year...it has most definitely been eventful. But, now, it's January of 2008. Wow. Ready or not, here it is. As I write this, the rain is coming down hard outside and promises to continue for days to come. I'm cozy and warm in my sweet home here in Healdsburg, so grateful to have found this wonderful place to live. The newest news is that I've created an entirely new website. It's at www.evokingimages.com , and I hope you will all stop by and check it out. It's very exciting that there is e-commerce built in on the site, something I hadn't had before. I'm hoping it will make this photography passion of mine a fruitful venture. Still, nothing will keep me from continuing to photograph.
