Long Time No See

Image
I'm just cleaning up my blog after a long time away from it. Hello everyone... Happy New Year!!

Winter Setting In

Image
It's been very cold here in Bisbee for more than a week now. I've been indoors & staying warm when not working. But today, I took a drive to survey the landscape. Made it to Benson & then turned around. Nothing to report. I wouldn't want to live there...

Mellow Days...

Image
Not a whole lot to say...Just thinking about the fragility of life. A friend of ours here in Bisbee, Russell Dunn, has suffered a severe brain hemhorrage and is clinging to life in a hospital in Phoenix. We're all sending him good thoughts and holding the space for him. But, at the same time, it seems he may have "left the building". Be good to each other.

My New Grandson!

Image
My daughter had a baby boy on February 8th - Benjamin Joseph. He is PRECIOUS! OMG, this means I truly am a Grandma! Here's an "up to the minute" photo of the two of us. I am savoring every moment before I have to wrench myself away! Love Love Love Love Love Love Love...and, more Love!

Beautiful Thailand

Image
On a sunny day, Thailand is absolutely gorgeous! Blue skies, swaying palms, the ocean waters are a sparkling blue, balmy weather. This photo was taken from our table at the Prana Resort near Fisherman's Village on Koh Samui. Absolute heaven!

Breakfast Anyone?

Image
It's been some time since I've blogged - again - and, I just want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! Here's a shot I took of a cool open air breakfast spot in Fisherman's Village on Koh Samui, Thailand! Bon Appetit'!

Rockin' Down The Highway

Image
I took a little drive over to Santa Cruz Valley a few weeks ago to see what it looked like out that way. Lovely scenery...the monsoon rains had greened up the hills and the towns along the way are fascinating! Tubac, Tucamacori, Nogales, River Road - I'll return soon!

Hidden Stairs in Bisbee

Image
Brewery Gulch Staircase I've seen this staircase a fair number of times while walking down Brewery Gulch in Bisbee, but, I never really stopped to photograph them. This is an HDR shot, simply to try my skills at it.

Big Sur How I Miss You!

Image
Rocky Creek Bridge in Big Sur Hey folks...I have a selection of my work on Fine Art America under  big sur photos . There will be more images uploaded very soon, but, I wanted to show you this for now! Check it out!

Farewell to Dot's Diner...

Image
Dot's Diner I just got the news the other day that Dot's has closed indefinitely. I'm really sorry to hear it and will sure miss eating there. Not to mention that I'm glad for having had the opportunity to be a waitress there for the past year. Let's hope something great transpires and they open back up!

Something Funny...

Image
I have always loved this photograph of my brother, Steve, leaping off the inner tube we played on in our backyard in Sacramento, California.

Walking along the San Pedro

Look who's new! Benito!

Image
Looks like I've got a new dog in my life...Benito was wandering on Hwy 80 about 5 miles outside Bisbee about a week ago and I pulled over and picked him up. No tags, a bit skinny...how could someone dump such a sweetie (yet I hear it happens all the time). After making the necessary calls to find out if anyone reported him missing, I adopted him. Let the fun begin!

Bisbee View!

Judy James is ready...for what - anyone knows!

Image
Judy has some new stockings and thinks they're just divine. She's ready for her next stop...the plastic surgeon! We've been sitting around eating chocolates and sipping champagne. I don't think she wants to leave, but, she's excited about her next change.

The Gadsden...

Image
So, as my ventures into the land of HDR photography take me farther, I decided to photograph the interior of the Gadsden Hotel in Douglas, Arizona. Kinda looks better than the original....what do you think?

Autumn Sunset Near Tombstone

Image
It's a beautiful season here in Southeast Arizona. The sunsets are glorious, and today we have huge winds! I can't believe it's actually going to drop down to the 20's tomorrow night. It's October! Ah, well...the pilot light in the heater is lit, the house is cozy...all is well!

A Strange Visitor In The House

Image
So, this evening I was sitting in the living room of my house watching a DVD with Ray...and, I see out of the corner of my eye what I think is a kitten with a long and bushy tail coming out of my kitchen...WHAT the %#$k? How did it get in my house, anyway? Turns out it's a Ring Tailed Cat - the Arizona State Mammal, amazingly enough. It slinked into my bedroom and under my bed. Then, it wandered into the living room and under the couch. I was barefoot and being a bit wimpy about it possibly being rabid, although it seemed quite docile. Ray helped by ushering it toward an open door, which it eventually found. But, first, while it was in my bedroom it started climbing the shelving. That's when I captured it in this photo (because even I kind of wasn't believing that this little creature found its way into my house). So, here it is - my little visitor...it's still a mystery as to how and where it entered my house!

Autumn in Southeast Arizona

Image
Autumn is here! There's a crispness in the air and the skies are beautiful. Maybe we're not really ready for the temps to drop into the 40's overnight, but, it seems Mother Nature is heading in that direction whether we're ready or not. Ah, well...bring it on! I've got my pilot light lit on the heater and can handle it! (I think). Here's a photo I took yesterday at Whitewater Draw. Ray & I took a wonderful and amazing drive out to the Chiricahuas and then crossed the mountain pass to the other side. What a wonderland of scenery, all in one day! I'll post a shot from the Chiricahuas as well. For now, here's some serenity with birds and water at sunset. Thanks to Ray for "posing" for the shot...
